Meet our team.

People committed to teaching faithfully, caring personally, and making it easier for newcomers to find their place.

Here to serve.

Our leaders work together to help people take their next step toward Jesus through Bible teaching, pastoral care, connection, and hospitality.

Pastor Chris

Lead Pastor

Chris began serving Wonga Park CRC as a youth worker in 2008. After completing a Master of Divinity at the Reformed Theological College, he became pastor of Wonga Park Christian Reformed Church in 2015.

He is excited to pastor both congregations and help establish this new church in Mernda. He is passionate about discipleship, community outreach, and preaching that helps every person take a meaningful next step in faith.

Outside ministry, Chris enjoys chess, board games, films, the occasional PC game, and—most importantly—time with his wife Sarah and their four children.

Jenna

Ministry support and connection

Jenna helps make sure visitors feel welcome and regular attenders remain closely connected to the life of the church.

Whether she is connecting someone with a growth group, helping a family settle in on Sunday, or simply sharing an unhurried conversation, Jenna is ready to listen and help.

She works closely with Pastor Chris so the spiritual and practical needs of the Mernda church plant are cared for.

From a living room to a growing gathering.

Like many church plants, Mernda began simply: people opening a home, opening the Bible, worshipping together, and praying for what God might grow.

Today we gather in the Community Hub at Mernda Park Primary School. The room is larger, but the heart remains the same—a church family centred on Jesus, shaped by grace, and committed to the people of Mernda.

Under the care of the Wonga Park Session.

Mernda Reformed Church remains under the spiritual and governing care of Wonga Park Christian Reformed Church's Session—the pastors and elders entrusted with the oversight of the congregation.

This gives our young church mature pastoral support, shared resources, theological accountability, and a firm foundation as it grows.
